Dr Mehta is an expert in the fields of cataract surgery and medical retina with extensive experience in general adult ophthalmology.
After reading medicine at Cambridge University in England, Dr Mehta carried out clinical training at University College London. He completed 7 years of ophthalmology training in London with 3 years at the world-famous Moorfields Eye Hospital. Dr Mehta also carried out a fellowship at Sydney Eye Hospital. He was previously a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon in London and brings international expertise to his local practice. Dr Mehta is at the forefront of retinal research globally with publications on optimising cataract surgery outcomes in patients with age-related macular degeneration or diabetic retinopathy.
Dr Mehta is an experienced cataract surgeon having performed thousands of operations. He can discuss the full range of intraocular lens options available to patients undergoing cataract surgery, including monofocal, toric, enhanced depth of focus, multifocal, and duet intraocular lenses. Dr Mehta is a member of the Australasian and European Societies of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
