Deputy Clinical Manager (DDON) – Central Coast Day Hospital

Our custom-built hospital boasts precision instrumentation and cutting-edge technology, supported by a highly experienced team of clinical and administrative staff dedicated to maintaining a surgical centre of excellence.

 

We are offering a unique opportunity for a Full-Time experienced Perioperative Registered Nurse (RN) to join our rapidly growing team as a Deputy Clinical Manager (DDON). You will work alongside the established Director of Nursing and Business Manager to assist in managing Central Coast Day Hospital in Erina, a two-theatre ophthalmic facility.

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and effective planning for theatre lists.
  • Manage theatre flow and resources.
  • Oversee stock and inventory management.
  • Collaborate closely with clinical areas: scrub, scout, anaesthetics, admissions, and recovery.
  • Experience in scrub/scout is desirable, or willingness to train as part of induction and professional development.

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Division 1 Nurse with current Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia registration.
  • Current AHPRA registration.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Perioperative Nurse, preferably in Ophthalmology.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Organised and efficient with effective planning skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to demonstrate and develop leadership qualities and team support.
  • Commitment to promoting a culture of utmost safety and care, embracing best practices, and evaluating performance.

 

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Post-graduate management qualifications.
  • Knowledge of Quality and Risk Management.
  • Ability to manage budget cycles.
  • Experience in practice management or day surgery.
