Epping Surgery Centre Donates Anaesthetic Machine to Ministry of Health, Solomon Islands

Epping Surgery Centre was pleased to donate an obsolete anaesthetic machine to assist Eye Department services in the Solomon Islands. The anaesthetic machine is 8 years old and has been regularly serviced and maintained. The machine is fully functional but due to changing standards in Australia it was not cost-effective to retrofit the machine to meet the new Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists’ (ANZCA) Standards.

Dr Qalo, pictured below, Ophthalmologist and Head of Eye Department, expressed his gratitude to Epping Surgery Centre and advised that the machine will be put to good use in one of the Solomon’s outer island’s hospitals currently without an anaesthetic machine.
