PresMed Australia (PMA) has a year of substantial growth, adding three new facilities to the PresMed Network. Expanding to its first interstate facility in Tasmania PMA is proud to announce it has taken a majority shareholding into Devonport Eye Hospital (DEH) and minority shareholding in the practice of Northwest Eye Surgeons (NWES). DEH is a one theatre ophthalmic specialty day surgery opened in 2014 with co-located consulting rooms of NWES, and additional consulting rooms in Burnie. NWES has been servicing Tasmania’s Northwest coast community for over 50 years and has 3 Ophthalmologists, supported by a team of ophthalmic experts.
PMA’s Director, Mr Mark Resnik, spoke about the acquisition.
“Now that we’re through the worst part of the pandemic, there is a desire to spend as much time in the surgery and consulting room and one way to do this is in partnership with a bigger organisation like ours. We can help ophthalmologist meet requirements of this changing landscape, while offering them clinical and medical sovereignty”.
This is an exciting opportunity in that it adds another specialised day hospital to the PMA Group, in addition to its expanding practice acquisition segment. The mutual benefits of both businesses in a fast-growing location with strong market share bodes well for PMA’s continued growth.
